NATHAN VANHORN

SENIOR PASTOR

Dr. Nathan VanHorn has served as Senior Pastor of First Baptist Corinth since April of 2022 after previously serving churches in central Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama.

Born in New Orleans, Nathan was largely raised in Columbia, MS, where his father served as a pastor. Nathan surrendered to ministry following his junior year of high school. After graduating from Columbia High School, Nathan attended Mississippi Christian University, where he met his wife, Haley, with whom he shares three children: Judah, Jayce, and Mackenzie Ruth. Following his time at MCU, Nathan and Haley moved to New Orleans, where Nathan completed a MA, ThM, and PhD at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

Nathan's passions are people (he would LOVE to have lunch or coffee with you!), preaching and teaching God's Word, and prayer. In addition to his ministry at FBC, he serves as an adjunct professor for MCU and NOBTS and as a host of the Better than Fiction Bible Podcast (on Apple Podcasts and Spotify). If you would like to get to know our pastor better, please call the office at 662-286-2208 to schedule a meal or a meeting.

ROYCE WILDER

ASSOCIATE PASTOR OF MUSIC AND WORSHIP

Dr. Royce Wilder serves as our Associate Pastor of Music and Worship. He grew up an hour down the road, in New Albany, and was called into the ministry the summer after he graduated high school. Throughout his career, Royce has served churches in Mississippi, Texas, and North Carolina. He began his current ministry here at FBC in the fall of 2001. He holds music and worship degrees from Blue Mountain Christian University, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and the Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies, which is now part of Fuller Theological Seminary.

Homeschool parents, Royce and his wife, Bevin, have been married for over 32 years and have three amazing children: Alaina, who works at the Union County Heritage Museum in New Albany; Brianna, who serves as Worship Associate at Harrisburg Baptist in Tupelo; and Daniel, who is a junior in high school.

Royce often brags that he has the greatest job in the world - serving as the Worship Pastor at First Baptist. He has a passion for helping believers have a life-changing encounter with God through corporate worship. He views worship as the believer's response to who God is, all that He has done, and all that He desires to do in us. In worship we "re-tell" and "re-experience" the story of God's redemption and embrace it as "living truth" in this current moment.

About Royce:

Favorite Bible Passage: John 4 (the woman at the well)

Hobbies: watching science fiction movies, running, spending quality time with his family

Favorite Song: any current one that our ministry is learning

Favorite Foods: pizza, seafood, Mexican

Strongly Held Unpopular Opinion: Royce does not like the taste or smell of coffee.

MATT FRAZIER

ASSOCIATE PASTOR OF STUDENTS

Matt Frazier has served as Student Pastor of First Baptist Corinth since October

2024 after previously serving churches in Northeast Mississippi.

Born in New Albany, MS, Matt spent the majority of his life there. New Albany is where he met his wife, Hannah, and she has been by his side since 2007. After graduating from New Albany High School, Matt attended Northeast Community College and Blue Mountain Christian University.

God used his college years to prepare him for ministry. At NEMCC, Matt surrendered to ministry in 2014 and became a leader in collegiate ministry. At BMCU, Matt was trained, equipped, and encouraged to be a faithful minister of the gospel. He holds an Associates Degree from NEMCC and a Bachelors of Science in Christian Ministry from BMCU. He is currently pursuing his MDiv through New Orleans Theological Seminary.

Matt loves Student Ministry. He knows how important it is because most people make a decision to follow Jesus before the age of 21. By teaching God's Word, forming relationships, giving service opportunities, and having real conversations, he loves to see students come to know Christ and deepen their relationship with Him. His ministry plan is for students to Know Christ, Grow in Christ, and Share Christ with others.

Matt married his high school sweetheart, Hannah, and they have been married for 10 years. She loves the beach and the thrill of an adventure. They have two children: Cooper and Callie. Cooper loves soccer, and Callie loves makeup and baby dolls. His family is his world!

About Matt:

Favorite Bible Verse: John 20:21

JENNIFER JEFCOAT

MINISTER OF CHILDREN AND PRESCHOOL

Jennifer Jefcoat has served as the Children's Minister at First Baptist Corinth since 2009. Born and raised in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Jennifer became a

Christian on May 17, 1987, and first sensed God's call to ministry at the age of 15.

She surrendered to full-time ministry in April 2005 and began serving as the

Preschool Ministry Director at First Baptist Church in Saltillo, Mississippi. Jennifer attended Leavell College at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary from 2005- 2009, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministry. She is currently pursuing a Master's Degree at Liberty University as she works toward becoming a licensed Christian counselor, furthering equipping her to minister to children and families.

Jennifer has a strong calling to love children and lead them into a closer relationship with Christ. She wants children to know that even though they are young, God has a purpose for their lives, and they can serve Him right where they are. She also has a heart for encouraging and equipping those who serve in

children's ministry, as they faithfully invest in the lives of children and families. One of her greatest joys is serving alongside volunteers who have become much

more than a ministry team-they are truly family.

Jennifer and her husband, Jake, have been married for 25 years. Their daughter, Hanna Joy, is married to Kaleb Digby, and they are expecting Jennifer and Jake's first grandchild, Naomi Joy, in September 2026. Their son, Jude, attends Northeast Mississippi Community College. Jennifer considers her family one of God's greatest blessings and is especially grateful to have a husband who shares her love for serving the Lord and His church.
